چکیده
Synopsis In recent years there has been growing interest in uncovering evolutionary and lifetime factors that may contribute to the domestic dog’s (Canis lupus familiaris) success anthropogenic environments. The readiness with which dogs form social attachments, their hyper-social focus, flexibility have all areas of investigation. Prior research demonstrated many pet infant-caregiver type attachments toward human caretakers, even into adulthood. However, it is unknown if adult similar attachment bonds other species, including cohabitant dogs, or dog–human relationship unique this respect. current study we used Secure Base Test evaluate behavioral indicators stress reduction, proximity seeking exploration, classifying dog–dog dyads style categories. As prior studies, found majority our met traditional criteria for infant–caregiver attachment. did not display dog partners. Instead, behaviors observed relationships better matched classifications described sibling research. Overall, companion were significantly less likely than caretakers elicit associated security a focal dog. Dog–human play distinct important role resilience living at least some Bonds formed while important, serve different function.

Given the importance of temperature for the shedding of trematode infective stages (cercariae) from gastropod first intermediate hosts, we investigated the response to temperature increases of trematodes of the intertidal snail Zeacumantus subcarinatus collected from different latitudes (differing in mean annual summer temperature) on the South Island of New Zealand. We investigated whether she...

Interspecific and intraspecific hybrids show varying degrees of heterosis for yield and yield components. Yield-component traits have complex genetic relationships with each other. To determine the relationship of yield-component traits and fiber traits with seed cotton yield, six lines (Bt. CIM-599, CIM-573, MNH-786, CIM-554, BH-167, and GIZA-7) and three test lines (MNH-886, V4, and CIM-557) ...
متن کاملTonic immobility in terrestrial isopods: intraspecific and interspecific variability
Many arthropods, including terrestrial isopods, are capable of entering a state of tonic immobility upon a mechanical disturbance. Here we compare the responses to mechanical stimulation in three terrestrial isopods Balloniscus glaber, Balloniscus sellowii and Porcellio dilatatus. We applied three stimuli in a random order and recorded whether each individual was responsive (i.e. showed tonic i...
